The In-Character Board has a few features that are tuned to make RP easier, and gameplay is going to be a little different in the PbP format. I'll go over a few of them here.
IMPORTANT GAMEPLAY CHANGES
Since PbP has little distinction between sessions and episodes in length, a session is equal to an episode in game terms. Any power or ability that recharges per session or episode is instead reusable after one month within a thread.
Chronology is determined by thread start date. As in, don’t bring Pokemon you caught or items you found in a thread started earlier to a later thread unless that thread has wrapped up or unless a month has passed. This is the best compromise I have to the parallel nature of forum threads vs. The game’s assumption of discrete time blocks.
GMs may choose to drop the Top of the Round conceit entirely due to it being much slower in this format, but tbh? I don’t have a stopgap in mind for this. Please experiment.

... Which you'd then edit after rolling real quick to note the total of the highest roll +1 for easy reading, like:

CONVENIENCE FEATURES
Images and videos auto-embed into posts when you post the link/url in plaintext, no formatting needed.
There is a Post Avatar section over the reply box where, if you input the URL of an image, that will be your avatar for only that post. This is great for character portraits!
There is a spoiler plugin that can be used for Called Actions. You can only access this from the full reply page - it's the button on the far right. Please title your spoilers "Called Action:" when using them for that. It'll look like this if pulled off successfully:
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ROLLING DICE
Basic Rolling
The dice roller has its documentation here, but if it makes you go cross-eyed, just remember that for most rolls with trainer and Pokemon, you'll be rolling two separate tags, and you write roll=X with X being your die step in square brackets. So, as an example, if your trainer has a Research of d10 and your Pokemon has a Shadow Sneak of d6, it'll look like this:
And it'll display like this when posted:
XtzKQ8Mh1d10 1d6
If you're lucky enough to have a positive modifier like a +1, you just add it on. Unfortunately, because the result of a given die isn't separated out so you can see the roll and modifier, we have to add it on manually at the end. Taking the previous example, if the GM told you to roll with a +1, it'll look like this:
... Which you'd then edit after rolling real quick to note the total of the highest roll +1 for easy reading, like:
1d101d6 +1 = 6
Explosions
VDice regrettably does not do exploding dice, so we have to do that by editing a post after rolling. When your die comes up on its maximum value, just edit the post to add another die roll, separated out so everyone can tell it's an explosion. Again, it's very helpful to do the addition and put in the total for easy reading.
So it'll look like:
1d101d6 (pretend I rolled a 6 on that d6 there)
Explosion: 1d61d6 = 16
1d10·1d6·1d10·1d6·1d10·1d6·1d6·1d6
